Weeks before his trial was to begin, Thomas Collard, a longtime resident of Samson, pleaded guilty to murdering his wife nearly 30 years ago.

On Thursday, Feb. 3, Collard pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife, June Marion Collard, at their home in Olmstedville, NY in 1980. Reportedly, the two had become involved in an altercation with Collard hitting his wife, causing her to die shortly after.
