AuburnArt announces "Legends, Traditions, Memories" contest

AuburnArt is collecting entries from members of the Auburn Family to compile a unique history of the legends, traditions, and memories of Auburn and to find out more about the ways Auburn fans value their connections to Auburn.  To encourage Auburn fans to enter the "Legends, Traditions, Memories" contest, AuburnArt created a video featuring several Auburn Legends and alumni who share their own stories about Auburn.  The video can be accesses at www.auburnart.com with additional videos added weekly featuring the legends, traditions, and memories of Auburn.

"Without its people's stories and memories, Auburn would just be a place," said Cliff L. Hare, great-grandson of Auburn legend Cliff Hare and owner of AuburnArt.  "But it's not just a place. It's a history, a relationship.

ANDALUSIA, AL (WSFA) - Andalusia Police are working with Immigration and Naturalization services after an intoxicated man detained for trying to leave the scene of an accident turned out to be wanted for failure to appear on deportation proceedings.

Andalusia Police say they were dispatched to the scene of a fender-bender on South Three Notch Street shortly after 10:00 Friday night. When an officer arrived on the scene he found 30-year-old Jhimmy David Hernandez Carranza attempting to leave the area. The officer noted Carranza was "obviously intoxicated." As a result, Carranza was placed in the back seat of the patrol car until the officer could clear the scene.

Lt. Paul Dean says that's when Carranza started getting violent.

"He started kicking the back window of the patrol car in an attempt to get out. When the officer tried to calm the suspect down, Carranza resisted. The officer deployed a chemical agent which had no effect."
