COVINGTON CO., AL (WSFA) - According to authorities, a suspect has been charged with capital murder in connection with a body found on a Covington County roadside.
Covington County and ABI officials were called in to investigate a murder on Friday, Sept. 14 near Andalusia after a man's body was found in an open field off of Old Dragstrip Road and Airport Road. That victim was later identified as 48-year-old Greenville resident Donnie Earl Bone.
Bone worked in the scrap metal business, and witnesses told deputies they saw him and the owner of a business on Airport Road leave together Thursday afternoon. Bone was found the next morning dead from a gunshot to the back of the head.
Authorities have since arrested 59-year-old Shelton L. Foster and charged him with capital murder in connection with Bone's death. Covington County homicide detectives won't comment on a possible motive for the murder.
If convicted, because of the capital murder charge, Foster could face the death penalty. Right now Foster is being held at the Covington County Jail with no bond.
