Episode of new reality show to film at WOPP

OPP, AL (WSFA) - Keep your eyes peeled in late 2013 for an episode of a brand new reality show featuring hometown radio station WOPP.

According to one of the co-founding brothers of WOPP, Robert Boothe, the new show entitled "Cattle Boys" will film in Opp sometime in March.

Boothe added he hoped Glassman Media would choose to film in the later part of March in order to feature the Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo.

"I don’t even like reality shows…but this will be great for exposure of Opp, the Rattlesnake Rodeo, and WOPP," said Boothe.

Glassman Media is responsible for other reality shows such as Sweet Home Alabama, ExWives Club, Average Joe, and Momma’s Boys.

The show, which has been picked up by a yet-unnamed national cable channel will air in the later part of 2013.

AUM athletics give back to community for MLK Day

AUM athletics give back to community for MLK Day

In conjunction with the university-wide Martin Luther King Day of Service initiative, several of the Auburn Montgomery athletic programs took part in a variety of community service projects across the area over the past week.

Representatives from baseball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, cheerleading, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s cross country all participated or have plans to participate in the initiative.

“It’s outstanding to see such widespread community engagement from our athletic programs,” Athletics Director Steve Crotz said. “Giving back to Montgomery is very important to AUM athletics, and there is no better time to emphasize this point than around a holiday celebrating a man who did so much, both for Montgomery and our nation as a whole.”

The AUM baseball team traveled up to Millbrook to assist the Alabama Wildlife Federation at a local pond.
