Mother in trouble for abusing toddler; breaking arm for "quiet lunch" | Crime
ANDALUSIA, AL (WSFA) - An Andalusia mother has been indicted and her boyfriend is in trouble for allegedly breaking a 1-year-old's arm in three places, dragging her up the stairs and locking her in a bedroom so the two could "eat lunch without hearing the crying."
Tiffany Ann Riley, 21, and her boyfriend Jermaine Pate, also in his twenties, were originally arrested for this case of abuse back in July after a domestic violence call from an Andalusia apartment complex.
According to the Andalusia Police Department the two had a history of domestic violence. Witnesses said the two had verbally abused and repeatedly spanked Riley's daughter for crying.
Both were arrested back in July and charged with the willful abuse and torture of a child and held under a $250,000 bond. Pate was ultimately denied bond because he violated the terms of his probation in Butler County.
Riley was re-arrested on Friday, January 14, with a grand jury indictment for aggravated child abuse. She was released the same day on a $100,000 bond.
