Covington Co. man shoots at ex's new man
COVINGTON CO., AL (WSFA)- Covington County Sheriff Deputies say a man is now charged with first degree burglary, but he apparently wasn't looking to steal anything.
John David Hughes is accused of breaking into a residence on Red Oak Road so he could inflict bodily harm on his ex's new boyfriend.
Deputies says Hughes meant business when he arrived. He fired shots from a 12-gauge shotgun. One of two bullets grased the left shoulder of David Peacock, the new lover.
The ex-girlfriend, her 16-year-old son, and Peacock were inside the mobile home when the incident happened Tuesday morning at approximately 2:45.
